Followed by the tragic crane accident at the Indian 2 shooting Spot in EVP Film City Chennai, kamal Haasan announced Rs 1 Crore to the family of the deceased. Three technicians lost their lives after a crane fell over them in the middle of the shooting of the film.
He also said that the funds will not be enough for the families and the safety precautions need to be taken in a very serious manner hereafter."'I'm not telling this as a request. This is our responsibility," said Haasan.
Recently Kamal Haasan's political party Makkal Needhi Maiaam released a press release which states "the function that is scheduled on February 21, 2020, to celebrate the 3rd year of Makkal Needhi Maiaam has been cancelled since 'Nammavar' (Kamal Haasan) would be unable to attend the event because of the tragic incident happened in the shooting spot of his film yesterday".
Kamal Haasan launched his political party Makkal Needhi Maiaam (MNM) at a public meeting on February 21, 2018, at Madurai.
