Reports suggest that a statue of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has been installed in Coimbatore. The Anna statue near the VOC ground in the city remained covered with steel sheets for restoration works ahead of the MGR centenary celebrations. However, when the sheets were removed on Sunday, there were two more statues erected alongside Anna statue. Two statues of MGR and Jayalalithaa were erected. Reports suggest that this is the first statue to be installed for the late AIADMK chief.
