EC tenders unconditional apology over failure to hold local body elections

Tamil Nadu State Election Commissioner on Monday reportedly tendered an unconditional apology to the Madras High Court as the Commission failed to complete the local body elections before November 17. DMK filed a defamation case against EC after it failed to follow the Madras HC’s order to complete the civic body elections before November 17. The defamation case has been tabled for hearing on Tuesday, say reports.
