Chennai: Assistant film director killed after argument over TV volume

According to reports, an argument which broke out over the TV volume ended in the killing of one of the inmates in Valasaravakkam of Chennai. Akhil Kannan from Silukkuvarpatti in Dindigul was sleeping when his roommate Karthikeyan was watching television in the night. An argument broke out when Akhil asked Karthikeyan to reduce the volume and the later pushed the former down. Akhil suffered a head injury and fainted. Karthikeyan and friends rushed Akhil to hospital. After receiving treatment, Akhil returned to the room and slept. However, he didn’t wake up in the morning and was found dead. Karthikeyan surrendered to police and Akhil’s body was sent to Royapettah government hospital for post-mortem, reports added. Notably, Akhil was working as an assistant director in the film "Anna Durai".
