Mamata govt moves SC against mandatory Aadhaar linking for govt schemes

Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress government in West Bengal has reportedly moved the Supreme Court against the Centre for making the linkage of Aadhaar mandatory for all government schemes. The state government has reportedly objected to linking the Aadhaar with phone numbers and bank accounts, say reports. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had earlier said that she wouldn’t link Aadhaar with her phone number stating the Centre can cancel her phone connection. Reports suggest that the apex court is taking the plea for hearing on Monday along with other cases filed against the move.
