600 YAMAHA WORKERS ON STRIKE ARRESTED IN KANCHEEPURAM

On the ninth day of the protests by Yamaha workers demanding reinstation of two colleagues who they claim to have been wrongfully terminated from services, things took an ugly turn when police arrested 600 of them and detained them at a marriage hall nearby Kancheepuram bus depot, where they had been protesting. 

Raja Manikandan and Prakash were reportedly terminated on September 20. The other demands of the workers include coercing Yamaha into accepting their worker union as a legit one.
