A young South African cricketer has been injured in a mysterious attack.
Mondli Khumalo, a 20-year-old young cricketer from the South African cricket team. He played in the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup.
In this context, Mondli Khumalo was involved in the celebration of their team's victory in the recently concluded cricket match at a hotel in the Bridgewater area of England last Saturday night. In the ensuing trouble on both sides, he was severely beaten by an unidentified person. Mondli Khumalo is said to have fainted on the spot.
He has been admitted to the hospital and is undergoing intensive treatment. According to ESPNcricinfo, Mondli Khumalo suffered a brain hemorrhage and was in a coma. A 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Mondli Khumalo plays for North Beatrice Cricket Club in South Africa. In this regard, the cricket club said in a statement on the incident, ‘We offer our heartfelt support for Mondli’s speedy recovery. Our thanks go to those who helped Montley, especially the health workers who assisted him at the scene and at the hospital.
