Rajasthan coach Kumar Sangakkara shares about youngster Riyan Parag.
The Gujarat Titans, led by Hardik Pandya, clinched the trophy in the ongoing 15th season of the IPL. Many young players showed excellent play in this series. But it also drew sharp criticism on Rajasthan Royals fame Riyan Parag.
After catching a match he took the ball down and teased the umpires to check. It received rave reviews from fans. As well as behaving aggressively towards the senior players in the field, he was constantly making jokes like staring at the opposing players. So many former players advised him.
Rajasthan coach Kumar Sangakkara spoke about Riyan Parag in this regard, in which he said, “Riyan Parag has got a huge amount of potential. We have to work him into a higher batting number next season. I look forward to grooming him to become more of an early middle-order player rather than just a death-overs hitter because he is so accomplished against spin as well as pace."
Indicating R Ashwin’s batting and bowling capabilities, the RR director opined: “Ash has done a great job for us, but even he, being a legend in what he has achieved on the pitch, there will be a lot of improvements and thinking to do, especially with his off-spinners and to bowl more of it.”
