Lucknow Super Giants secures a thrilling win against Kolkata Knight Riders.
The 66th league match of the IPL series was played at the Mumbai Stadium yesterday. The Kolkata Knight Riders clashed with the Lucknow Super Giants. Lucknow won the toss and elected to bat first, scoring 210 not out in 20 overs. Wicket-keeper de Kock (140) and skipper KL Rahul (68) remained unbeaten till the end.
Following this, Kolkata batted with a target of 211 to win. Venkatesh Iyer and Abhijit Tomar were the opening batsmen. But Venkatesh Iyer ducked out and Abhijit Tomar struck out 4 in a row. Captain Shreyas Iyer (50) and Nitish Rana (42) scored with ease. This was followed by Sam Billings with 36 runs.
However, Kolkata stumbled, losing 5 wickets for 142 runs. All-rounder Russell, who was on the field at the time, was disappointed to be out for 5 as expected.
