After Manish Pandey played a very good innings of 83 from 49 balls coming back into the team, along with Warner's 57 from 45 balls, SRH got to a respectable total of 175 in the 20 overs. They would have felt that they were 15 runs short after the kind of start they got.

Shane Watson powers CSK to a win against SRH

Bhuvneswar Kumar started of SRH's bowling innings very well with a maiden over to Watson. CSK got off to a very slow start as they found it difficult to rotate strike. Faf Du Plessis was run out early on in the 3rd over when the score was just 3. Suresh Raina came in and started off positively that gave Shane Watson time to get set. They both added on 77 together at a good pace that set a good platform to launch for the chase. Once Raina got out for 38 off just 24 balls, Watson started to take on the bowling attack and was striking the ball brilliantly. He didn't spare Rashid Khan as well who had some heated words exchanged with Watson. Watson just missed his century as he fell for 96 off just 53 balls including 6 massive sixes. Through this innings, he also went past 8000 T20 runs in this format which is a big achievement.

Rayudu who was just knocking the ball around was not able to push on after Watson fell and slowly tension started to creep in with 9 required off the last over. Jadhav, however, hit a 6 off the second ball that got the game back to CSK. Dhoni didn't come out to bat even as Rayudu fell when it was 1 run to win, but he was not required on the night as Watson did the job tonight.

CSK's trust on the players even during their lows has really paid off. There were a lot of talks from cricket pundits to drop Watson, but Dhoni stuck with him and now he has produced a match-winning performance. The Top order of CSK which was under pressure has stood up today and they will be happy about that.
