After RCB got to 161 in 20 overs, it was expected to be an easy chase for CSK since it looked like a good batting pitch and there was dew on the field.

RCB win a thriller against CSK at bengaluru

The RCB new ball attack was on the money straight away as Dale Steyn picked up 2 wickets in the first over. CSK collapsed early losing 4 wickets for 28 runs in the powerplay.

MS Dhoni along with Ambati Rayudu played responsibly and tried to string a partnership together to get the team out of trouble. As they added 55 runs together, Rayudu was clearly trying to push the scoring rate at a stage where the required rate was climbing upwards of 12. In trying to do so, he lost his wicket to Chahal for 29 runs off 29 balls.

All of CSK's hopes was resting on MS Dhoni to fire. As he always does, Dhoni took the chase really deep. It came down to 49 required off the last 3 overs with Dhoni and Bravo at the crease. As Dhoni launched a big six against Steyn and got it to 36 to win off the last 2 overs, he decided that he is going to do it by himself and hence refused singles early on in the over. Saini bowled well in spite of getting hit for 6 in the 3rd ball and got bravo out in the last ball of the over.

It came down to 26 needed off the with MS Dhoni on strike and Umesh Yadav getting ready to bowl.
He hit the first ball for a boundary and the second ball out of the stadium for a massive six. The third ball went for a six as well as it just touched the tips of AB Devillers hand on the boundary. After running a quick two of the fourth ball, he smashed another six off the 5th ball and this left 2 to win off the last ball.
The huge Anti-climax happened as MS Dhoni missed the last ball and Thakur was not able to make it to the strikers end as Parthiv hit the stumps!!!

This really was an unbelievable finish and was a rollercoaster ride.
