Rishabh Pant’s innings in the final ODI against West Indies at Queen's Park Oval, Trinidad did not go well with fans including popular sports critic and commentator Harsha Bhogle. Though Pant failed to prove himself in the recently concluded T20 series, his partnership with Indian Skipper in the final T20 match was lauded by fans.

But Pant’s first-ball duck and bad shot selection in the final ODI match had irked the fans to the extent that they described his shot as “irresponsible shot”, "throwing away" his wicket at a crucial time etc. 

"This is a shot that Rishabh Pant will want to forget but shouldn't. It should remind him of how much ability he is wasting. He is a batsman-keeper, not the other way around, so his batting must speak for him even more," tweeted Harsha Bhogle.

However one of the fans of Rishabh Pant backed him saying that “ We will bounce back champ soon” (sic).

Despite losing early wickets, Indian Captain Virat Kohli registered his 43rd century and took India to victory by partnering with Shreyas Iyer who scored his second half-century. Followed by T20 series, India sealed the ODI series with 2-0 after winning the 3rd ODI by 6 wickets. The first test match between India and the West Indies will begin on August 22.
