India’s winning streak against West Indies continues as the Men in Blue won the second ODI by 59 runs. The brilliant partnership between Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer contributed 125 runs for India. Ahead of India’s victory by Duckworth-Lewis Method, India’s fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar lauded Captain Virat Kohli and his intent to score a century in order to get back to his consistent form.

Virat Kohli badly wanted a 100, said Bhuvnesh Kumar

“From Virat’s expression, you can make out how badly he wanted to score a hundred” Bhuvi told the reporters after the second ODI win at Trinidad. He also regarded Virat’s consistency which never goes out of form and Virat got dismissed only in 70s and 80s in the World Cup. “When he came back to the dressing room after getting dismissed, he said that the wicket was not that easy,” said Bhuvi.

Kohli’s outstanding 120 runs made him the highest run-getter in ODIs against West Indies beating Pakistan’s Javed Miandad. Kohli has also become the second-highest run-getter in ODIs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was brought in to attack by Virat when West Indies was 179/4 and he picked up a quick 4 wickets. His crucial dismissals include Chris Gayle, Nicholas Pooran, Roston Chase, Kemar Roach.

By winning the second ODI match, India leads the 3 match ODI series by 1-0. It has to be mentioned that the 1st ODI was called off due to rain. India and West Indies will be clashing in the final ODI on August 14 (Wednesday) in Trinidad and Tobago. Bhuvneshwar Kumar said that India would like to sweep the ODI series by winning the third and final ODI.
