IPL HAS TO BE TRUNCATED: SOURAV GANGULY AFTER MEETING WITH FRANCHISE OWNERS!

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly on Saturday said the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be truncated if the COVID-19 pandemic subsides but could not commit on the number of games under the current situation.

The board on Friday postponed the tournament from March 29 to April 15 after the government imposed fresh visa restrictions and three states said no to hosting any matches in the wake of the COVID-19 threat.

“It will happen, because if it is April 15, then, in any case, 15 days are gone, it has to be truncated. How truncated, how many games, I can’t say at the moment," Ganguly said.

BCCI's top officials met with the owners of all the eight franchises to discuss various options on Saturday.

"No one is in a position to say when it's going to start. We will review the situation after two to three weeks and hopefully, by then the cases will reduce," Kings XI Punjab's Wadia told reporters after the meeting.
