Former Indian Test cricketer Sadashiv Patil passed away today in Maharashtra's Kolhapur city. He was a medium-pacer, who played his only Test at the Brabourne Stadium against the visiting New Zealand, by debuting alongside Nari Contractor and Vijay Mehra.

In his career, Patil, was a well-known performer for Maharashtra, who he represented in 36 first-class games between 1952 and 1964. 

Patil played against New Zealand in Mumbai, and took 2 for 51 and scoring 14. He didn't get another chance to play for India. He, played 36 first-class matches for Maharashtra from 1952-1964, scoring 866 runs and taking 83 wickets.

He had also captained Maharashtra in the Ranji Trophy.

Ramesh Kadam, a former office bearer of Kolhapur District Cricket Association, told new agency PTI that "He (Patil) died in his sleep in the wee hours on Tuesday at his residence in Ruikar Colony in Kolhapur." He passed aways at 86 and is currently survived by his wife and two daughters.
