WOMAN FALLS FROM UPPER BERTH OF TRAIN, DIES; FAMILY IN SHOCK

In a rare and shocking case, a 40-year-old woman slipped when alighting from the upper berth of an AC coach and died after a couple of hours due to suspected internal injuries.

This shocking incident took place on July 22. The woman was travelling in the Udyan Express, which was heading to Bengaluru from Mumbai. The deceased has been identified as Saraswathi Banisal, who is from Kolkata.

According to New Indian Express, as per railway official, Banisal was a bit overweight, who fell from the berth when she tried to alight from the berth before it was to enter the Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna (Bengaluru City) railway station.

One of the passengers who was travelling with the lady, immediately informed the railway ministry about the incident on Twitter. Soon following that, the railway authorities and doctors rushed to the coach as the train reached the platform.

On initial examination, doctors said that she was fine and was being rushed to the hospital for a checkup. On her way, she feel unconscious and started loosing memory. As she reached the hospital, the doctors declared her brought dead, Express further reported.

It is suspected that she was wounded internally in her spine or head and therefore died.

Following this incident, doctors have advised people who suffer from BP, sugar or other health problems not to climb on upper berth by train.
