UP-based Islamic seminary bans Muslims from posting photos online

Darul Uloom Deoband, an Islamic seminary based in Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur, has reportedly issued a fatwa banning Muslims from posting the pictures of themselves or their family members on social media sites. Terming the act “unislamic”, the seminary reportedly said, “Unnecessary uploading of pictures on social media is wrong”. The seminary had earlier in October issued a fatwa calling a ban on women plucking, trimming, shaping their eyebrows and cutting hair.
