RAHUL, SONIA GANDHI EMBARRASSED & SHOCKED WITH CONGRESS LEADER OVER KASHMIR ISSUE: WATCH VIDEO

There was war of words in Lok Sabha today, as Congress questioned Jammu and Kashmir's bifurcation from the Centre but this war took everyone by shock after Congress leader Adhir Ranjhan Chowdhury made headlines where he claimed that Article 370 was not an internal matter.

This statement by Chowdhury left former Congress president and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi embarrassed and shocked in the Lok Sabha over abrogation of special status to Jammu and Kashmir.

"You say that it is an internal matter. But it is being monitored since 1948 by the UN. Is that an internal matter? We signed Shimla Agreement and Lahore Declaration. Was that an internal matter or bilateral," asked Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury.

As per India Today reports, as soon as Chowdhury makes his statement Sonia Gandhi is seen looking frustrated and gesturing towards Rahul Gandhi as if to know "what's going on, what is he saying?" While, Rahul Gandhi, who was sitting just behind Chowdhury looked clueless.

Soon after Chowdhury's remarks, this statement drew sharp counter from Union Home Minister Amit Shah after which he asked to clarify whether it was the official stand of the Congress party.

This is not the first time Chowdhury has put the Congress party in such a state. Earlier, he had compared Prime Minister Narendra Modi's poor background to "gandi naali" (a sewer), after which he later apologised.
