Section 144 was reportedly imposed on Udaipur city, Rajasthan to prevent the outbreak of communal violence after a video of a Muslim man being murdered was put up on social media and people started putting up posts in support of the alleged murderer, who was later arrested. There were also posts about holding a rally in support of him. Internet services were withheld in the area from 8 PM yesterday and will be restored only when the authorities deem fit.
