SC orders this punishment for casteist remarks over phone in public place

The Supreme Court has reportedly ruled that using casteist remarks against SC/ST persons in public places even over phone would warrant as criminal offence with a punishment of maximum five years jail. This court ruling has come following proceedings on an FIR against a person who allegedly abused a woman belonging to SC/ST category over phone by using derogatory casteist comments.
