A police constable in Gurugram, Haryana was hit by a sedan on August 18 (Sunday). The incident was captured in the nearby CCTV cameras. The shocking video shows the high speed sedan racing past the road with the Police constable hanging over the car’s bonnet. Reportedly the incident happened at a checkpoint in Jyoti Park, New Colony, Sector 7 when the constable tried to stop the speeding car.

Later, the police arrested the suspect who was identified as Krishan Pal, a 22-year-old resident of Shakthi Nagar. He was arrested after the police traced the several CCTV cameras placed in the areas where Krishan Pal eloped after the incident. The police investigation revealed that the suspect is also known by his first name Rohit and was driving a Hyundai Accent on Sunday Night.

The incident happened when the officers were on duty to inspect the vehicles and when the police constable tried to stop the suspect’s vehicle, it increased the speed, scooped him and dragged him for nearly 2 and a half kilometers. The police constable is seen holding over the speeding car’s bonnet in the CCTV footage. The police constable said, fortunately he jumped off the bonnet when another vehicle came in front of the car which slowed down the speed.

The police constable was taken to a private hospital where he was treated for his injuries and discharged later. The police have registered a case under different sections against the accused and further investigations are underway.
