An Ernakulam court has convicted Ameerul Islam, the lone convict in the Jisha rape case. The quantum of sentence is to be decided tomorrow. In April 2016, law student Jisha was found naked, with intestines pulled out, in a pool of blood at her house in Perumbavoor in Kerala. Subsequently, Islam, a labourer from Assam was arrested for the rape and murder of Jisha, which shook God's Own Country by storm. Many also found parallels with the Delhi 2012 gang-rape.
