DISTURBING VIDEO: ELEPHANT KILLS MAN AFTER PEOPLE THROW STONES AT ITS NEWBORN

In an inhuman and horrifying incident, a mother elephant trampled a man to death in West Bengal's Ajnashuli village, as people pelted it with stones after it gave birth to a sick calf. The incident took place when locals got to know that an elephant had given birth at a nearby dried lake.

According to Daily Mail reports, villagers had gathered around the elephant and her newborn only to find the anxious mother nudging the calf to get up, but the little elephant appeared too weak to respond to its mother’s prodding. The mother was likely sensing danger and wanting to move the new calf into the adjacent forest.

Media reports further state that, locals then started pelting stones at the calf, pushing the mother into a rage. She angrily started chasing the crowd and trampled a 27-year-old Shailen Mahato to death.

In the footage, the elephant was seen guarding the calf, while people tried to get near it. According to locals the elephant tried to warn the crowd to stay back before its attack by marking the area with its feet.

Within minutes, tensions rose after the incident and 10 other agitated elephants appeared in area. The locals were then chased through a forest by angry elephants.Officials from the forest department said they are keeping a close watch on the elephant and will not be able to send it back to its natural habitat until it calms down, reports Daily Mail.
