2 COVID POSITIVE PATIENTS RELEASED FROM QUARANTINE CENTRE BY MISTAKE; CREATES HAVOC

ANI reports that two COVID19 positive patients were discharged from a quarantine centre yesterday in Uttar Pradesh because of confusion due to similar names. They were later brought back to the quarantine center, with the investigation being underway, informed MC Garg, Moradabad Chief Medical Officer (CMO).

In the last 24 hours, 1,684 new cases have been reported in the country with a recovery rate of 20 per cent. Meanwhile, the government said that the doubling rate of Coronavirus cases in India was three days on March 21, while it has now reached 10 days and added that Coronavirus cases would have reached 1 lakh by now if not for the lockdown.

Meanwhile, in what comes across as heartening news, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has said that plasma therapy is encouraging and has urged recovered patients to help save lives. "We request all those who've recovered with folded hands...now, you can save others's lives," Arvind Kejriwal said.

Plasma therapy is based on the belief that blood from a recovered patient contains antibodies with the ability to fight the pathogen.

The government has said that a total of 15 districts in the country, which earlier had cases, have not reported any fresh cases since the last 28 days. Further, a total of 80 districts from 23 states/UTs have not reported any new cases since the last 14 days.
