Ever since its inception, Galaata events have seen familiar faces lending a helping hand in organizing this event, driving up ticket sales, and most importantly, bringing their unbridled enthusiasm and passion to help Udavum Karangal. If volunteers are holding one end up, sponsors form a critical support system that supports and nurtures noble endeavors like Galaata. One of these sponsors that stand out like a beacon is the Weber Negandhi Company. They have been a sponsor of Galaata 4 times in a row and this is their 5th year of association!
Suzanne Weber and Umakant Negandhi, the founding partners of Weber Negandhi have built up an impressive business backed by decades of successful tax consulting. They offer end-to-end services tailored for individuals and businesses. Their service offerings includes tax preparation, planning, and audit representation for individuals; Small Business Accounting, Audits and Compliance for businesses; Estate & Trust Services Planning and
Compliance.

 Suzanne and Umakant had the privilege of meeting Vidyakar, the man behind Udavum Karangal in the fall of 2008. This was four years after they started sponsoring events at Galaata. Suzanne says, “Vidyakar radiated calmness and serenity that resonated with me and gave me the satisfaction of actually meeting the man behind the cause.” Umakant shared with us, “Over the past 25 years Mr.Vidyakar has touched and changed for the better the lives of so many children and we are proud to be associated with his efforts.” Umakant and Suzanne have since traveled to India and are planning one more trip later this year.

Suzanne is no stranger to helping out others or supporting charities. Recently, she was in Romania, with her daughter, to serve the cause of “Failure to Thrive”. She has seen destitute people in many parts of the world, but according to her, the downtrodden in India seemed to radiate happiness not seen anywhere else.

Umakant who is of Indian origin says that he has been impressed by the work done by the Udavum Karangal Bay Area chapter. The main appeal for him was the fact that they are a completely volunteer driven organization.
