Luck by Chance

Farhan Akhtar has been involved with Shankar Ehsaan and Loy from his first movie Dil chahta hai to his latest Rock on and no time provided a dud. So with lots of expectations did I rip open the cover of their latest movie Luck by Chance directed by Farhan Akhtar's sister Zoya Akhtar. Has the combination worked this time around too?

Baware

“Baware” is a fast paced

Luck by Chance

Rajastani folk song which has some extremely likable instrumental usage and some high voltage singing by Loy and Shankar mahadevan. The usage of high end techno sounds in the middle do make it lose its sheen a little bit but the rest are just perfect. An energetic song which will surely be liked by all for its energetic pace.

Yeh Zindagi Bhi

“Yeh Zindagi Bhi” is a motivational song on life and problems sung by Loy and Shekhar does a Rahman, It grows on you so smoothly and there is a smile on your face without your knowledge at the end of your listening. Lyrics by Javed Akhtar help attain its destination quite easily.

Luck by Chance
Sapnon se Bhare Naina

Shankar mahadevan as usual reserves the best for him and “Sapnon se Bhare Naina” is the pick of the album hands down. The song sounds so different and this song which actually mocks the way of life of the protagonist is definitely going to stay in the minds of music lovers for a long time. Shankar's vocals lift the overall feel of the song to new levels.

O Rahi Re

“O Rahi Re” is an inspirational song but why do we get the feeling that we have heard this before? Yet, the song does go easy on your ears. Even though as a composer he gets inspired mainly from his old hit but as a singer Shankar mahadevan just inspires, his blessed vocals helps the overall feel of the song. But the song is taken from Ok to greatness by the lyricist, the one and only Javed Akhtar whose words infuse life to this song.

Ye Aaj kya ho gaye

"Ye Aaj kya ho gaye" a rock kind of song sung by Sunidhi Chauhan is great to hear. The percussion instruments and drumming are put to good use as it helps in lifting the song along with the superb vocal treatment of Sunidhi. Again the brilliant Javed Akhtar proves his mastery over words.

Baware

The remix version of “Baware” comes as a big surprise as it is not just a normal remix but it is quite a different version of its brilliant original. Its weightage more to techno sounds is fully justifiable. A peppy track that makes your feet tap.

Pyaar ki Dastaan

“Pyaar ki Dastaan” again sounds similar to the trio's Salaam E Ishq, and this romantic number could have worked even more better if only the other song in question was not a hit but the trio got everything right that year. Amit Paul, the indian idol finalist and the supremely talented Mahalakshmi's vocals make the song a pleasant hear. A decent song which may get a welcome from the people who are quite new hearing S-E-L songs but for their fans it would be a been there- heard that kind of a feel.

Verdict:

Another experiment from S-E-L has hit the right notes once again. Even though some songs sound similar the others are just masterstrokes and the trio's combination with Farhan Akhtar once again is fruitful. Give a chance for this soundtrack and you will feel lucky for sure.
