Pona Usuru Vanthurichu
Singers: Haricharan, Shreya Ghoshal

The peculiar album begins with a typical Imman melody sung brilliantly Shreya Ghoshal and ably supported by equally talented Haricharan. The unique chord progressions and symphonic violin does the job flawlessly. While the string section is more of western based, the rhythm section compliments it greatly with folk percussions. The interludes are weaved effortlessly with ominous chorus along with emotive single string violin. A straightforward winner!

Oorellam Kekkudhe
Singers: Shreya Ghoshal, Maria Roe

The folksy fusion takes a new meaning with a feel good number sung by Shreya Ghoshal and backed with American Country styled Acoustic Guitar. The song has shades of trance and New Age with the wholesomeness of Tamil poetry. Surprisingly, Celtic Bagpipes make their individualistic presence felt in the first interlude through a breathtaking solo.  The delicate traces of Raaga Harikambhoji are clearly witnessed as the song progresses by.

Manusanum Manusanum
Singer: Gana Bala

The full fledged folk arrives next in the sultry vocals of Gana Bala. The song has quirky lyrics topped with indigenous percussions but the real hero of the composition is the Jazzy piano base which follows the song in swift timing. Watch out for the teasing first interlude which has a duel between the baritone vocals of Gana Bala and velvety Jazz piano!

Adada Ithuyenna
Singers: Haricharan, Vandana Srinivasan

The melodious Imman bounces back in full form with another riveting melodic duet. Haricharan makes no mistakes in bringing out the amazing feel the progressive song exhibits. Vandana Srinivasan’s sweet vocals make it even more enjoyable and making the song another feather in the cap for Imman’s  feel good melodious duets!

Love in Wheels
Singers: Chinnaponnu, Nathan, Woodwind

The fitting finale occurs on an emotionally compelling note with a soulful lullaby rendered by the supremely talented Chinnaponnu. The haunting flute is delicately woven with timely bass work transporting the listener to a new world of Far East realms. In short, this song carries the soul of the album quite mesmerizingly.

Verdict: Thodari is a passable album from D.Imman which delivers what it promises. An emotionally viable musical roller coaster ride is guaranteed!
