Even though Kamal Haasan had been making a mark on the scene as the one to look out for it was in 1977 that Kamal had managed to become a household name. In Bharathiraja’s classic 16 Vayadhinile Kamal showed that he was prepared to go to any lengths to ensure that his performance was authentic, even if it meant that a young handsome hero would have to be stripped down to the bare minimum for a scene.
