Kollywood – The New Face of Indian Cinema, still rules the roost with new stories and plots. Here is the full analysis of namma “kollywood” in the mid of 2013. Till now, we don’t have lot of biggies except Vishwaroopam. Comedy and light hearted movies trend continues this year also.

Hits..........

Vishwaroopam – The moment we saw the first scene of the movie we realised that it is worth the wait. Ulaganayagan once again proved that he is man of the unexplored areas in the world cinema. Only Blockbuster of the year. But many of us expected some more from Kamal and the wait for Vishwaroopam II is on.

Kanna Laddu thinna Aasaya – Santhanam saga continues this year also and this movie gives another new kind of comedian (Sorry if I’m wrong) for Tamil cinema “Power Star”.

Paradesi – A dark story of a tea estate labours. Bala, a man of this genre proved his mettle again. But National award juries should have laid an eye on this film. A new star arrives for Kollywood  “Atharva”.

Chennaiyil Oru Naal – A Clean remake of Traffic with a message. Audiences welcomed this with fresh hands but Surya made an unexpected appearance.

Ethir Neechal – Our boy next door Siva Karthikeyan stamped his entry as a solo hero. Even though this movie offers nothing new , Music played a main role to reach the audience.

Soodhu Kavvum – The Most notable film of the year. Short Film Makers making their way to the big world and they are succeeding. And a Hat Trick for namma “Vijay Sethupathy”.. Lot of movies like this in his pipeline..

Misses.....

Aadhi Baghavan – No one expected this product from Ameer

Moondru per Moondru kaadhal -  No try next time...

Alex Pandian – Declared Flop even before it releases

Kadal – It gives the signal for Mani sir’s retirement. Biggest disaster of this year.

Settai – The only film, Santhanam failed in the recent times.

Gourvam – Lack of promotions and lack of depth in the plot. Radha Mohan better to concentrate on light hearted movies.

Amaidhi padai-2 – Legends failed.

Samar – good plot but bad execution.

Average Grossers ....

Neram , Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga, Haridas, TVSK and Thillu mullu.

Special mention for Yaaruda Mahesh.

Apart from these movies we lost some legends also Manivannan, PB Srinivas and TM Soundarrajan.

And we had some dramatic events Vishwaroopam and its DTH broadcast and Film Fraternities Vs Muslim parties. Still we don’t have any solution for these problems.
