Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga sees the teaming up of acclaimed director Pandiraj and popular composer Yuvan Shankar Raja for the first time. The film stars Vemal and Siva Karthikeyan who both have been part of Pandiraj’s earlier projects. The leading ladies of the movie are Bindu Madhavi and Regina.

Konjum Kili
Singers: Velmurugan
Lyrics: Yugabharathi

At first the song may seem to be on expected terms but the treatment, sequencing and arrangement displays Yuvan Shankar’s maturity and progression to a level of certain quality and excellence. There are plenty of great melodies to choose from within this one song alone. Be it the singer Velmurugan’s portions or the splendid array of musical interludes, the song is grand!

Oru Porambokku
Singers: STR, Yuvan Shankar Raja
Lyrics: Na Muthukumar

Well, STR and Yuvan get together to deliver a song patronizing alcohol and it turns out just the way you expect it to – as fun-filled and youthful as it can get. The chorus of the song with the two of them saying ‘No’ to alcohol is bound to be anthemic amidst the younger male audience and Na. Muthukumar has clearly come out as a winner in that aspect. Between the two singers Yuvan’s carefree performance in particular evokes chuckles and STR delivers yet another top notch performance as a singer.

Sudasuda Thooral
Singers: Yuvan Shankar Raja
Lyrics: Yugabharathi

With the opening notes just following basic scales, it sends out signals that it is going to be as simple as possible. Yuvan sets up the melodies with a nonchalant whistle and goes through the motions with his vocals. The singer/composer positions his inspirit interludes to elevate the tune when the sense is a tad lonely.

Ulladha Naan
Singers: Sathyan
Lyrics: Yugabharathi

A satirical song set to foot-tap-able folk percussions. The mainstay of song would certainly have to be its lyrics and kudos to Yugabharathi for putting down verses that sound radical but manages to make you smile and possibly even acknowledge it with agreement. Sathyan does well to deliver them in a tone that's sincere and sarcastic at the appropriate moments.

Dheivangal Ellaa
Singers: Vijay Yesudas
Lyrics: Yugabharathi

For long, Tamil cinema has had many tracks devoted to the doting mother, but here is a song for the fathers. The track is not short of patronage or sentiment and is well supported by a beautiful melody. Vijay Yesudas is the bearer of the task of delivering the vocals for this lullaby and he seems the perfect man for the job considering his lineage.

Verdict: Lively and enjoyable.
