A social satire, directed by Balachandar, the movie ridicules reckless spending by a family in an attempt to equal their lifestyle with an actress who moves next-door to them. Considered to be an eye-opener, the movie boasts an outstandingly crafted screenplay complemented with some of the best acting talents of those days - Nagesh, Balaiya, Muthuraman, Sowcar Janaki, and Kanchana.
