Gautham Menon apologizes to Director Ram - Event Story

The music of director Ram’s Thanga Meengal was released today in a grand event. Balu Mahendra released the audio and director Ram’s daughter Gomathi received the same.

Composer Yuvan Shankar Raja, producer Gautham Menon and the rest of the crew were present at the event, thereby making it a grand success.

A one hour long A-V was screened before the official launch where directors Prabhu Solomon, Lingusamy, Balu Mahendra, Cheran, Anirudh, Yuvan and Vetrimaaran spoke about the movie and their opinions on Ram. The various actors and singers who have associated on the movie also shared their views in this A-V.

Directors such as Lingusamy and Vetrimaaran said in the A-V that Ram was the apt choice for this role though they had some initial reservations whether he would be able to pull off this role. They spoke very highly about the movie. Prabhu Solomon is seen recollecting a touching little incident between him and his daughter in one of Chennai’s busiest shopping streets. He says that love and affection binds all humans in this disconnected world.

Cheran was in fact approached first to produce as well as act in this movie but he couldn’t do it due to a financial crunch.

Yuvan said that he had composed music for Thanga Meengal straight from his heart and not considering commercial success and countdown charts. He also advised his fans to not use social media in an abusive manner. He spoke about his Mariyaan association with Rahman and also said that Michael Jackson was his role model. He sang Janani Janani on request from the fans gathered. Yuvan also told Ram that he wished the latter made an intense action film given his commitment and passion for cinema.

The little girl, Sadhana, who has acted as the daughter of Ram in the movie expressed her excitement and was very happy that the movie is finally releasing after being in production for such a long time. She was in fact the 158th girl that was auditioned by director Ram for this role.

Gautham Menon apologized to Ram for having made him wait for 3 years to finish this movie. He recollected how he had to withstand a lot of financial troubles and pressures while making this film but he was always sure of the script and Ram’s capabilities.

And importantly, Thanga Meengal's music sounds haunting and moving, indeed ...
