"I took Arya's place" - Vishal

The audio launch and the press meet of Samar happened today at the Prasad Laboratories, Chennai. Vishal, Thiru, Na. Muthukumar and Adhityan were present at the event, among other media personalities.

Vishal was as enthusiastic as ever during the event and disclosed that this script was actually made by Thiru for his close friend, Arya. While making Theeradha Vilayattu Pillai, Thiru had narrated this script to Vishal and requested him to convince Arya to do the lead role. “But I liked the script. So, I offered to do the role and informed Arya about it,” bragged Vishal.

After Avan Ivan, Bala had advised Vishal to choose good projects. “Samar is a very good project and it is a tourist guide’s travel from Ooty to Bangkok,” added Vishal. He praised all his co-actors and technicians, before wrapping up his speech.

Thiru was all praise for his lead actors. When he had narrated the story to the producers, they asked him to get back to them in 2 hours. Thiru said that he was perplexed. But the producer gave him a nod after two hours. The producers were from Andhra and they didn’t know Tamil. So, a mediator had translated the entire story in 2 hours. “The translator would have done a great job,” said the director jokingly.

He claims that, it took him hardly 15 minutes to get Trisha to sign the project. “She loved my script and said okay immediately,” said a proud Thiru.

Yuvan Shankar Raja is currently in Kuala Lumpur, mastering the sound for the film, and hence couldn’t attend the event. Trisha and Sunaina too missed the event as they were busy with their current projects.

The film is expected to hit the screens on 21st December, along with Paradesi and Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya.
