2019 has started with a bang to the Tamil Film Industry as 2 big films, Rajini's Petta & Ajith's Viswasam have released for the pongal festival weekend on Jan 10th. Both the films were received with great response from the fans and the family audiences.
Majority of the exhibitors and distributors have also shared their positive opinions that both films are performing well and are expected to be hits business wise as well. We contacted popular distributor Tiruppur Subramanian to know the trade performance of both the films and this is what he shared us.
He said "Both Petta and Viswasam are doing extraordinarily well. While Petta is comparatively doing better than Viswasam in Cities, its the opposite in B & C centers as family audiences are enjoying Viswasam better, but I feel both the films will be definitely become Hits and at the Box Office, both will collect more or less equally."
On checking about the BO collections, he said "No one has the exact numbers, but since both films carry very good reports, the last 5 days before the pongal leaves were good and the same response is expected to continue till Thursday holiday and the following weekend. This trend will surely make both films collect 100 crores easily. The final collection of both films will be more or less equal."
