The members of Tamil Nadu Cinema Theatre and Multiplex Owner's federation had tabled a meeting on 24th April to discuss important issues ranging from the hikes in maintenance fee, income tax and the salary of theatre employees. The meeting has formulated a new set of regulations in accordance with the recent developments in the aforementioned factors.

As per the new regulation, when it comes to the box office returns of films starred by tier-1 actors such as Ajith, Vijay and Rajinikanth, 60 percent of the the first week box office returns in A centres will be acquired by the producers whereas 65 percent will be acquired from the returns of B and C centres. For the second and the coming weeks, the producer's shares will 55 and 60 percent from A and other centres respectively.

When it comes to the box office share of films starring tier-2 actors such as Suriya, Dhanush, Sivakarthikeyan, STR and Vijay Sethupathi, the first week share for producers will be 55 and 60 percent of the collections acquired from A and other centres respectively and for the second and successive weeks, the share will be 50 and 55 percent.

For other actors, fifty percent of the film's box office returns from A and Other centres will be acquired by the producer. The producer's share of such films in the second and successive weeks will come down to 45 percent.
