LEGENDARY PLAYBACK SINGER PASSES AWAY

Legendary playback singer MS Rajeswari passed away at her residence in Chennai today, April 25. The singer was 85 and died due to old age ailments.

She has recorded over 500 songs in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. She was the first playback singer for Kamal Haasan for the song Ammaavum Neeye Appaavum Neeye in Kalathur Kannamma. 

She started her career in AVM Studios under R Sudharsanam’s music. She later went on to sing for other legendary music directors like G Ramanathan, Naushad, Viswanathan-Ramamoorthy and Ilaiyaraaja.
