Lakshmi Manchu talks about Me Too

Actress Lakshmi Manchu is one of the most popular heroines in the Telugu Film industry. She is a part of Jyothika's next film with Radha Mohan, titled Kaatrin Mozhi. This is her second Tamil film, after making her Tamil Debut with Mani Ratnam's Kadal.

Speaking to Behindwoods exclusively about this film, and the popular Me Too movement that has taken the social media by storm, she said:

"India is supposed to be the 2nd or 3rd worst country for women. That is worse than our neighbouring countries that suppress women. So, when women come out and talk, first listen to them. It is not easy for women to talk about it. They will never forget the pain. Don't tear them apart, don't slut shame. They're already suffering by telling the truth.

I have been abused, in a way that looked at, wrongly touched, even in public places like exhibition ground. Every girl has been touched at an exhibition. Now women are getting the strength to say it is wrong. Don't shut them up. I'm not saying the boys are wrong. If we both got different education, you are wrong. But, we've been given the same education.

Now you know what you're doing is wrong. Here is a chance for you to get better. What more can be better, than to unlearn the mistakes, and learn something new and positive. The men should be the champions of the Me Too change."
