The director is being held in police custody on 28th April by the the Vijayawada police department for various reasons. Anguished by that, the director posted a message in his official Twitter account that said "There is no democracy in Andhra Pradesh,".

The director had recently completed his film 'Lakshmi's NTR' and the film has ran into controversies for the timing of it's release. The film is co-directed by Agasthiya Manju. The film is finally set for a release on May 1st, 2019.
