"I thought I had a bipolar disorder" - Dhanush

Dhanush's performance in 3 has been winning him a lot of accolades and the actor recently received an award for the best actor for his performance in the movie.

Speaking about his role in 3, Dhanush mentioned that he took up the character because the script fascinated him. He mentioned that, acting in the movie was a challenging experience, especially the portions where he suffers from a bipolar disorder.

Dhanush stated that he met a few psychiatrists to understand the nature of the disorder and worked hard to get into the skin of the character.

"It influenced me so much that one point of time I felt that I actually had a bipolar issue."
