Prabhu Deva has come under fire from the Hindu Makkal Katchi for supposedly being insensitive towards the ongoing tension surrounding the Sri Lankan war crimes issue. Prabhu Deva is presently filming Raamaiya Vastavaiya which features newcomer Girish Kumar alongside Shruti Haasan.
 

The issue raised by the Hindu Makkal Katchi is the inclusion of Sri Lankan native Jacqueline Fernandez in the cast of Raamaiya Vastavaiya. While many political groups are insisting on a trade ban between the two countries, Prabhu Deva’s casting seems to have irked a few. The Sri Lankan beauty queen however has been part of Bollywood since 2009.
 

Raamaiya Vastavaiya is the remake of the Telugu original Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana directed by Prabhu Deva, which was later adapted in Tamil by Raja as Unakkum Enakkum Something Something.
