Cult flick Lucia is coming soon, down South

 

The total budget of the movie inclusive of marketing, was just around 70 lakhs (51 lakhs for production) and the movie has already grossed more than 4.5 crores at the Kannada box-office in its 6th week. The movie would also be doing its rounds at film festivals across the country.

 

Critics have been raving about the film and even Bollywood celebs such as Anurag Kashyap have appreciated the film for its stunning presentation.

 

When Behindwoods correspondent spoke to the director of the movie, Pawan Kumar, he said "I would be working on the local adaptation of Lucia and would prefer another director who has knowledge of Tamil sensibilities to take up the direction duties. My work would be during the pre-production stages of the remake. A new face should ideally be cast in this movie and I believe Bobby Simha would be doing the film. He is an apt choice. C.V.Kumar has to take a call whether he would be doing it in Tamil or Telugu or in both languages"

 

When Behindwoods contacted Simha, he texted back saying that he is in talks for the remake. 

 

CV Kumar is currently busy with his other projects and said he purchased the remake rights of the movie as he really liked the film. He plans to make it as a Tamil - Telugu bilingual. Nothing has been decided as yet on paper about the cast, crew and other aspects of the remake.
