When this matter was taken up with the Producers’ Council, Appachan agreed to pay a sum of Rs. 6 lakh as compensation to Farook, just to avoid any future problems. After paying a token sum of Rs. 1 lakh, however, the producer did not pay the balance as promised.

Aggrieved by this, Farook appealed to the High Court for the payment of the balance amount. When this issue had come up for hearing before the division bench comprising Chief Justice A.P. Shah and Justice Jyothimani, it was enquired if the remaining Rs. 5 lakhs, along with interest be paid to the complainant to which Appachan’s advocate agreed. Following this, the complainant agreed to withdraw the case.
