skin of the character that they are
playing. Some people grow hair, some
starve and some observe others. There
are many techniques that are used
by actors to appear as convincing
as possible on screen. Martial arts
have been a part of films for a long
time now.
Many heroes have spent years learning martial
arts to come across stylishly in stunt sequences.
Bollywood has had its trysts with Karate, Kung
fu, Judo and many other martial arts, but the
one thing here is that the persons who have tried
to learn them have always been men.
A leading lady trying to perfect a martial art
has been unheard of. Such things have happened
in Hollywood, but this must count as the first
time in Bollywood. Priyanka Chopra is learning
a martial art form for her upcoming film Drona.
The art form that she is practicing is not the
usual Karate or any of the others. This one has
not been widely heard of. It is a Sikh martial
form called Ghatka. What exactly Priyanka will
be doing in the movie is not yet known, but one
thing is for sure, it will have a bit of action
in it. Thinking of the slim and trim frame of
Priyanka, one can’t help wondering whether
action sequences will suit her.
