Yet another corporate to produce movies

Sun TV joined the long list of corporate media houses to test the Kollywood waters. The television giant announced their plans to produce Tamil movies in an event held last evening in the Residency Towers Hotel, Chennai. According to Hansraj Saxena, COO, Sun Pictures, the company has already finalized five movie projects for coproduction.

Besides, on the cards is plan to produce a movie every month. The production banner will function in Kalanidhi Maran's name. Saxena also mentioned that Sun Pictures would market, distribute, and co-produce Tamil movies.

The movies identified for coproduction include the Jeeva starrers Thenavattu and Siva Manasula Sakthi, Nakul starrer Kadhalil Vizhundhen, Narain starrer Pookadai Ravi, and the Sundar C starrer Thee.

The event saw attendance from producers, actors and media persons including Jeeva, Narian, Sundar C, Srikanth, Nakul, Srikanth Deva, Anbalaya Prabhakar, Khaja Mohaideen, directors P V Prasad and Kadhir, and musician Vijay Antony.
