Kuruvi tests Malabar waters
By Behindwoods News Bureau.
May 03, 2008

Kuruvi is releasing today in Tamil Nadu and although not a new feat for Tamil movies in Kerala it is being released in as much as 60 theatres in the state. Following the reception Vijay’s earlier venture Pokkiri received during its release, Kuruvi will be screened in 2 theatres each in prominent cities like Kochi and Trivandrum – quite unusual for a non-Malayalam movie.

Distributors are hoping that the movie’s reception will be on par with movies of Malayalam superstars like Mohanlal and Mammootty. Given the fact that this summer there are no other big Malayalam releases (if the already released Mammootty starrer ‘Annan-Thampi’ and the Mohanlal starrer ‘Innathe Chinda Vishayam’ are not counted), Kuruvi might just be able be pull it off.
