Aasai
was adjudged the best short film at the Indian
Film Festival 2010 held at Melbourne Australia.
This film, which was directed by Sam, bagged
the prestigious award in a competition wherein
about 200 short films took part. Aasai’s
director Sam says that the festival Director
Ms. Mitu personally liked the short film so
much that she was instrumental in having him
at the venue to receive the award.
Well known directors Mr. Rajkumar Hirani (3
Idiots), Mr. Imitaz Ali (Love Aaj Kal), Mr.
Sohail Khan (Main Aurr Mrs Khanna) also appreciated
the work of Sam in Aasai.
Director Sam says, “The film festival
gave me an immense response and an international
exposure to my career. I worked with director
Ameer in Paruthiveeran and as Associate Director
with Director Samuthirakani in Naadodigal.”
