You all might be aware of Aamir Khan's aversion to award functions. In fact, he has not been seen at any major awards function for more than a decade now. He abstains from them on principle though we are yet to fully understand it. But even Aamir, the staunch man of principles has decided to make an exception. Aamir Khan will attend an awards function

in Chennai shortly. The occasion will be the presentation of the Gollapudi Sreenivas Memorial Foundation Award, given every year to the best debut director in the country and this time the recipient is Aamir Khan for his outstanding directorial debut with Taare Zameen Par. However, it is not just the fact that these awards are far away from any tinsel town politics that has made Aamir consent to attend it. A jury member was so special, his verdict so valuable that even Aamir could not overlook it. Kamal Haasan was on the jury that recommended Aamir for the award.

Now when a genius par excellence like Kamal decides that a person is worthy of an honor then no one can turn it down. So, after more than a decade, Aamir will be seen accepting an award. It took a Kamal Haasan verdict to bring about this special occasion. May be that is the mutual admiration of two geniuses.
