Nayanthara has agreed to star in the Malayalam film Madhilgalkappuram,
which is the second part of Madhilgal, which was directed by Adoor
Gopalakrishnan. Madhilgalkappuram will be directed by debutant
Prasad.
Sources close to the actress say that she agreed to star in this
film as it is the potential award-winning role. Bollywood actress
Vidya Balan was offered the role initially but she rejected it,
sources report. Madhilgalkappuram, which has Mammootty playing
the male lead, happens to be his home production.
