Filmfare
announced its 57th awards for the best
in South Indian cinema for 2009. Idea
Cellular will be the sponsors for the
event. Filmfare will invite fans nationwide
to vote for their favourites across
10 categories each, in Tamil, Telugu,
Kannada and Malayalam films. Nominees
drawn from the responses have been shortlisted
and specially appointed juries have
been set up to help choose the final
winners.
Mr. Tarun Rai, Chief Executive Officer,
Worldwide Media Pvt. Ltd. Owners of
the Filmfare magazine said that this
year there are 450 movies in contention
for the Filmfare Awards. “It’s
no wonder they are known as the Oscars
of South cinema,” he added. |
