A KITE FESTIVAL ON SCREEN

The filming of Baana Kaathadi is almost complete with 90 percent of it shot already. As the name indicates, Baana Kaathadi is about a kite lover whose entire life revolves around the kites and competitions relating to it.

The movie will be the launch pad for Atharva, son of popular actor Murali. Samantha, the lead lady of Moscowin Kaveri and Pookada Ravi will pair up with Atharva. Prasanna plays an important role while Karunaas has taken care of the comedy. The film is directed by Badri Venkatesh and produced by Sathyajyothi Films’ Senthil Thyagarajan and T Arjun.

It is probably the first time in the history of Tamil cinema that a film has been shot amidst the real crowd in the Gujarat’s Kite Festival.

Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored the music for Baana Kaathadi. Richard M Nathan has wielded the camera for this film and Rembon is the art director.
